It looks like it has been well over two weeks since my last post of anything. Sorry about that. I guess there has just been too much stuff going on lately. I’m not even sure where to begin with stuff. I can’t really say I even remember much from two weeks ago. I know I did some work in the yard at the house and moved a big mound of dirt and bricks and stuff that was piled up near the front of my house. I had to fix my lawn mower before I could mow my grass for the first time the spring. One of the parts of it had rusted and broke so I had to order a part to get it replaced. But I got that working again and the grass is now cut. I also had a guy come over and cut down a big dead tree out of our back yard. The stump still remains but I’ll get that ground down eventually too. But it really cleared out a nice section of our yard and makes it look a little bigger.
This week Allie and I have been to three picnics. You and tell spring is here. On Wednesday we went out with some of her friends from school for a cookout at the park. Then Friday we went to that same park for another picnic that was with her tutoring group and students. They had a bunch of foreign type foods as well as the regular American hamburgers as well. It was pretty fun. Then today our church had a picnic as well and there was a ton of good food there also. I like picnics they are fun. We had decent weather for all of them too. It has rained a lot around here lately but it always seems to be cleared up when we went outside.
Saturday Allie had another bridal shower, this time with her friends here in Lynchburg. It sounded like she enjoyed herself there and she got some more of the things she had wanted for the house. She was a pretty happy camper.
I hope you like my non-chronological blog format. I’m basically just spewing out thoughts from what happened over the last two weeks as they hit me. I feel like I’m having a bout of A-D-D… hey look something shiny!
Oh, Allie and I also had our engagement pictures take a few weeks ago. We have those now in print and in digital format. I’ll probably be posting those sometime this week if I have a chance to do that. They turned out pretty good. I liked them.
Things at work lately have been pretty steady. I’ve had work fairly constant over the past two weeks. It used to be I would be swamped one day and then the next have only two or three things. Lately though, it has been pretty average every day. I kind of like that for a change.
I’ve been fighting allergies really bad the past few days. Normally I breeze right though spring without a hint of even a runny nose that is allergy related. But something about this year is really bad. My eyes are even being affected and they have been kind of swollen and red and itchy from it also. It’s been kind of frustrating. I hope I can get over it soon.
On Wednesday of this week Allie and I took our lunch break and went to downtown Lynchburg and stopped in to pickup our Marriage License. That was a pretty fun experience. Allie was pretty excited about being able to get that and hold it in her hands. That’s just one step closer to the real thing for us.
It’s been a long time coming, but I also became an official member at my church here in Lynchburg last week. I had filled out the form and read though all the information that we had discussed in the membership class the previous two weeks and felt ready to make the commitment. So my pastor had made a quick mention of that today in church.
I sat here for a few more minutes to think of anything else I may have missed and couldn’t come up with anything else. So I guess I’ll have to end here. Hope you enjoyed it. Until next time!

Time for me to catch up on my blog posts again now. I left off last talking about getting those screen doors to have installed at the house. Well I was able to get my friend from church to come over and install those now and they look pretty good on the house. The back door rubs on the portch on the way in though because the portch goes right up to the door threshold. Eventually we would like to build a whole new portch though so that should take care of it once that is done.
On April 3rd I ended up taking a long weekend and heading home to Seattle for a few days. Right after work on the 2nd I left and made the drive down to NC to stay the night with Allie's Dad. I had to be at the airport the next morning at 5:00 because my plane was going to leave at around 6:00. So it was nice to be in the RDU airport area that morning. I was able to get there with time to spare that morning. I had to park my car in the park and ride area and take the shuttle to the airport but that actually went really smoothly. I like the system they have for that there.
The first flight was a quick one to my connection airport but I was still able to sleep a little on that flight. The second flight was the longer one and they showed National Treasure as the inflight movie. I had seen it already two other times though and was hoping they would show one of the other movies I hadn't seen, but it was still a good flight. I got to Seattle right around 11:30 Thursday and after gathering up my luggage was able to call my mom and have her come and pick me up. The first thing we did after that was head over to my Dad's work and have lunch with him. He was able to introduce me to some of his co-workers that I hadn't met before. After lunch my mom and I headed back to the house. On the way home she showed me a lot of the stuff that has changed in Burien. They are building and tearing down all kinds of stuff there. Construction is going on all over the place and Things look pretty different. That night my Grandma came over for dinner and we had a nice dinner. It was really nice to see her again. I ended up going to bed kind of early that night because my body was still on east coast time.
The next day my parents and I went over to see some missionary friends of ours. They were serving in Russia awhile back but then the father started to have some heath problems and they had to return to the states. It is sad what has happend but the family is coping with it really well and they still are able to Praise God and Thank him for all he does on a daily basis. It is really cool to see how the Joy of Christ sticks with thier family even during this hard time. We had a great time with them that day. After leaving thier house around noon we went to my Grandma's house for the rest of the day and she made Lasagna for dinner that night. My Aunt and Uncle were going to show up, as well as my cousin and his wife that evening. Something happend though and they were both running late so We ended up sitting down for dinner before they got there. Just as we were finishing up eating they were able to show up. It was nice to be able to see them again as well. We had a fun evening with them.
On Saturday I met up with Danny and we were able to spend some time together for a little bit. I also stopped in and talked with him mom and dad for awhile. His brother Mark was there also so I was able to see him again as well. After doing that Danny and I stopped by Andy's house and we spent some time with him up there. It was cool to see people that I hadn't seen in awhile. Danny ended up coming over for Dinner that night also and we had home made tacos for dinner. I really love those things =). The rest of that evening we pretty much just relaxed around the house and talked and stuff. It was really nice.
Sunday morning we headed to church. It was my first time back there since we got a new pastor and a few things have changed around there. More people have started coming though too so there were a lot of new families there that I hadn't met. My mom was excited to introduce me to them all. Church was pretty good though and I like some of the changes they did around there. That afternoon we went out for lunch with my Grandma at the Mongolian Grill. Allie really likes that place and I was able to brag to her about going there. After lunch we headed back to my parents house and I spent some more time with my Grandma she was going to be leaving that afternoon to go back home and I wouldn't see her again before I left to come back to VA. It is always sad to leave her. After she left to go home I ended up meeting up with Katie, Angela and Breanne. I wanted to make sure I had some time to get together with them before I left. So we all met at Starbucks and Danny and Andy came along too. It was a fun time with them. After leaving Starbucks we stopped by Seahurst park to spend some time at the beach it was a pretty nice day too so that was pretty fun. I wasn't able to hang out too long though because I wanted to head back home to spend a nice evening with my parents. So I left all my friends and returned home. We were able to have a dinner together that night and I used that time to thank them for all they had done as parents for me and kind of just share my heart with them before I got married. It was nice, and I was glad I had the opportunity to do that.
The next morning bright and early I had to be back at the airport for the return trip. My plane was set to leave around 7:30 that time so We had to get to the airport around 6:00. I tried to pack my bag with some stuff to bring home with me but ended up packing too much stuff. My bag ended up being 5 pounds overwieght and I had to have my parents swing back around to unload a few things. I was going to bring back 2 containers of frozen blackberries my mom had picked but turns out I was only able to bring back one with the weight limit. I had to leave a lot of things behind that I wanted unfortunatly. Anyway I was finally able to get my luggage checked in and head to my gate. I was able to get there with some time to spare. The trip back home was pretty uneventful. I was able to catch up on some sleep again on the way back and that was nice because once I got back I was still going to have to drive back to Lynchburg from Raleigh. There was a pretty long layover in Newark before my connection flight and it didn't leave until around 7:30 and I had arrived there around 3:30. So that didn't get my back to RDU until around 9:30 that night. I was feeling pretty awake when I got back though so I had time to stop by Allie's Dad's house and spend about and hour with them before I hit the road to come back to Lynchburg. I didn't get back here until really late and then when I did try to go to bed I couldn't very well because I had like a jug of coffee to keep me awake for the drive. I think I only got about 2-3 hours of sleep that night.
The next day at work I felt pretty good still though even with the lack of sleep and I was able to get caught up for the most part from my few days off. That evening after work I went and spent some time with Allie. She had a lot of homework to do though so I just sat with her on the couch while she wrote her paper and such. I ended up falling asleep here and there sitting next to her. I ended up leaving a little later then I should have though because the next morning had had to wake up early to meet with my pastor for coffee before work. So I had only gotten about 5-6 hours of sleep that night and my body was starting to feel it. That entire day I was really tired and had to fight from dozing off. After work I took Allie out to the Outback for dinner but after dinner I told her I just need to go home and take care of a few things and then get to bed because I was so tired. So Last night I was able to catch up on some sleep a little better. I'm still kind of tired today but I feel a lot better then yesterday. So I think that just about covers my trip home. I hope you enjoyed the update!
By the way I added a few more pictures to my photo website www.jerdill.com/photos since my last post. If you haven't checked those out yet it might be worth a look.
