Then this afternoon was great as I had the opportunity to chill this afternoon with the D-bergs. I did have a good amount of homework and computer work to do today while I was there.. but it was still relaxing. I have to be up late again tonight though because there is another computer I'm working on now. I think I've just about reached a stopping point. I"m gonna be heading to bed because I have a class at 7:50 tomorrow...Yuk! We cleaned up and headed out around 4:00 and then we all went bowling. It turned out to be pretty fun. I don't know if it was quite worth taking the day off work though we were just sitting around most of the time this morning. Anyway it was kinda cool because I ended up making 2nd out of the 12 of us that went bowling with a score of 129. Afterwards I went by Barbara's house and helped her with her computer for awhile then needed to stop by the church and get the powerpoint ready. After that I came back to campus and spent the rest of the evening working on another computer for someone and doing Accounting homework. I finally finished my accounting stuff a bit again and I reached a stopping point for the computer. So I should probalby get to bed now. Night! posted by Jeremy Dillinger @ 2:10 AM  0 comments Saturday, August 27, 2005 Sorry I haven't been blogging too well lately. School started and I guess I wasn't too ready for it. Every night I've been too tired to attempt anything more. So now I will do a quick catch up possibly and fill you in on a few details. Classes started on wednesday and my first class is Accounting. On the first day of class I already have homework assigned and I have a feeling that very soon, that class is going to be kicking my butt. The teacher seems a little better then last year though. She actually teaches rather then just tells us answers. That class goes for two hours before we were released from our Accounting prison. We then had our first convocation and Good ol Jerry did the sermon for the day. It was his typical first of the semester sermon and I can't tell you how many times I've heard it. (He preaches it at other times too). After convo though I actually have a pretty decent class. Its called Creation Studies and I have it with my RA's and Allie's RA's. The teacher is new this year but I think he may turn out to be a pretty good teacher. I liked the first class. After that I have lunch with Allie so that is nice having the same break with her. We can eat together then walk to our cars before heading to work together, it works out nice. The rest of the day was fairly normal as I went to work and then to church. After church though I had a meeting with the leadership on my hall and they assigned us our prayer groups. By now I hadn't even started my Accounting homework so I attempted to get that done. Turns out I had to register online to get stuff I needed for that class. But I couldn't do that until I had something else. So I kept going in circles and not really getting anywhere. I ended up e-mailing the teacher and telling her what was going on. Here and there all through the evening people keep coming into my room and asking me computer questions or bringing me computer thigns to work on. So I never really got much else done that night. When it got late I just had to go to bed. I couldn't do anything else. Thursday I have a pretty interesting schedule. My first class is Database Administration. I only have three other classmates in that class. It seems like it will be a fairly simple class but its just weird having only four people in it. Its kinda cool on thursdays for me because I get to see Allie after every class because we are right near each other for all of our classes. My second class for that day is American Liturature. At first I was really worried about that class because english every teacher is different and you never know what to expect from them. Turns out my teacher seems pretty fun and interesting so I may end up enjoying that class. He let us out a little bit early that day too. After english I have two hours before my other class starts. In a way thats cool but I wish it wasn't like that so I don't have to go to work so late those days. But it gave me a chance to sit with Allie for a little bit before she went to her next class, and then I was able to have a nice leasurly lunch. Then guess what... my third class that day is another computer class and in that class I also only have three other classmates. They aren't the same three either they are different people. Its very very strange having a class that small. I'm not sure if I like that idea yet. Now if the teacher tries to ask a question to the class I might actually have to answer. That could be annoying =). Anyway once that class was over I had to practially run to my car because that class doesnt' get over until 1:35. I've never had to go to work that late yet, but I may just have to change the schedule those days to not start till 2:00. I don't really like doing that but I'm gonna have to I think. Anyway work was pretty typical again on thursday. I did have to hurry back to campus after work though because I had an avaition meeting that had started at 6:00. I ended up getting there about 15 minutes late and still heard what I needed to. For the most part though I probalby could have got away without going to it because most of the information was for the people that fly over at Lynchburg airport. I fly at Falwell so it didn't apply. But it was cool to hang with all the aviation students and proffessors for a little while. After that was over I ended up going to Pastor Johns Parents house that evening and I had to do some work with thier computers. I ended up being thier working on them until around 9:00. I had to hurry back to campus again though because I still had to do some slight preparation for prayer groups that night. Then we had hall meeting at 10:00 followed by my prayer group. My guys seemed to really enjoy the group and it ended up going until around 11:30. We just hung out with each other and talked and prayed together for awhile. It was pretty cool. Then by that time it was pretty late and I hadn't even started any homework or anything. I had to just do what was needed that night and I still got to bed pretty late. Friday turned out to be a very relaxing day though. I don't have any classes on friday so that is pretty cool. The only thing I need to do on campus that day is go to Convocation and of course walk Allie to class. I used some of the break to get some homework done and I also had to pack for the weekend because the leadership team from our hall was going to a retreat center for the weekend for a team building time and some spiritual growth. convo was pretty good friday and Rob Jackson talked about having fear of the Lord. I thought it was one of his better messages. I then waited for Allie to get out of class before going to lunch and by that time the lines were fairly long so we both had to rush so we could get to work on time. I ended up being a little late still but Andy didn't care too much. I hope Allie wasn't too late. I forgot to ask about that. The day at work was pretty normal again and nothign too exciting to report on there. But once I got off work I had to leave as soon as I could so I could meet the rest of the leadership team up at the retreat center called Eagle Eyree. I made it in time by 6:30 and they were just having dinner, so I didn't miss too much. The rest of the evening was really cool and we talked and got to know each other better. The SLD's and RA's all then shared a short lesson with us all and challenged us as well. It was really good. Most of the guys stayed up pretty late hanging out. I ended up just going to bed around 1:30 since I had such a long day. Since I was out in the boonies I didn't have any way of blogging that night. But now I think I'm all caught up. I feel quite a bit better now. =) Sorry mom and dad it took me so long. I wanted to get off earlier then usual so by going in early it worked out to leave early. It was weird being back on campus before 6:00. Anyway I had a bunch of stuff I needed to take care of after getting back to campus. Then later tonight we had a big block party. I didn't really like it, it was worth it to hang out with Allie and Britt but that was all. It was fun watching Allie when Grits played on stage for awhile. If I hadn't heard grits before though I probalby never would have listened to them again after tonight. I didn't understand a thing they did. Allie was cute though. Anyway.. I didn't like the bands at all tonight and its a good thing I was there with freinds, or else it would have felt like a complete waste of time. They had fireworks afterwards though and those were alright. We were close enough to smell them too so I really liked that. Fireworks smell good. Ok well I think I'm going to head to bed now pretty shortly. Tomorrow is our first day of class. Pray for us all! I ended up getting a little sick again this time though. It may have been because I was up for so long. It was basicly a two hour flight. One thing I can say that most people can't say everyday is "I got cut off by a 757 today" It was kind of cool. They had one landing up and charlotesville today while we were up there too. I learned quite a bit from it all today. There is just so much stuff I have to do all at the same time. Its really bad sometimes. Anyway we both survived and I didn't even throw up that much. I came back to campus after the flight and had some lunch before going to work. It was pretty hard for me today at work. Since I woke up at 6:00 this morning to get to the airport I was already tired. Then flying drains all my energy as it is.. let alone a two hour flight. Then to top it off, our AC was broken at work so sitting in a room that was 88 degreess all day made all the tiredness I had already, soooo much worse. I was really having a hard time. The day finally ended though and I was so glad it was over. I got back to campus and had some dinner before returning to my room to get a bunch of stuff done I needed to before day end. I'm going to have to make it quick tonight. I have to wake up early tomorrow morning to go flying (I hope). So went to church as usual, then spent the rest of the day over at the Donnebergs. We just relaxed and watched a few movies and stuff. Around 8:00 or so I ended up cooking lots of bacon that we all shared and then I made some pancakes for Allie and Britt. I made some heart shaped ones, and made some Initials as well. I even did a pancake of (A + J) It was pretty fun. We then watched "Worth it All" a good but short movie about the life of missionaries. It was really good. After that Allie and I just headed back to campus for the night. I need to get to bed now though so I can have the energy to make the flight tomorrow. Pray for good weather! I ended up getting back to my room pretty late last night and I didn't remember to blog. But yesterday was a decent day. I ended up waking up early to go to breakfast with Allie so we could go over our book we are reading together. We then split off and I went to work while she went to a workshop thing on campus. After work I was planning on flying to Charlottesville (at least try). Well it turns out that it got stormy again, and my flight instructor wasn't feeling too well anyway. So we didn't end up flying this time either. We didn't waste the time though and we kind of did a simulated crosscountry flight. But since we didn't really go I was able to leave earlier then planned and actually eat dinner. I met with Allie for dinner with her dorm. The food this time wasn't too bad so that was good. Lately the food has been pretty horrible. After dinner I went to Wal-mart with Allie for what should have been a 10 minute trip.. Well it was so busy it ended up talking almost an hour to get the 4 things we needed. We finally go out of there though and I returned to my room to get some stuff done before the movie Liberty was going to show in the Shilling Center started. The first movie they showed was called the Goonies or something like that and it was pretty much a waste of time. I ended up going first with my roomate though so it was nice to hang with him some. Allie ended up showing up later on for that last part of that movie. The good movie they showed was National Treasure. It ended up going until like 1:00 though so Allie was getting really tired. She waited with me and watched it till the end even though I know she would have rather just gone back to her room to sleep. I was glad she waited with me though. She is sure great! Once it was over we hurried back to the rooms and finally got to sleep. I had to wake up early again though for praise team practice at church today. So I'm tired still. I'll probably just take a nap this afternoon. PS. You guys are doing good! Thanks for doing so many comments lately I really like reading those! =)

This morning started out pretty good. I was able to meet with Allie and go to breakfast with her. It was a good thing I did too, because I didn't eat anything else the rest of today. Following breakfast was the First convocation of the year. Dr. Falwell ended up speaking to all of us. It was actually a pretty good message this time too. After convocation was over we had a really cool leadership meeting. The student leaders all gathered in the Vines center and one of the campus pastors spoke to us on the power of prayer. He then had us pray for about an hour over every single seat in the vines center for people that would be sitting there this year. Whether it is for a chapel service, sporting event, or Concert I prayed for them to hear from God while they sit there and aknowledge his will for thier life. It was really amazing to see about a 1000 people dispursed through the building praying and talking to God. God's presence was so very evident there this morning. I know I personally felt close to God, I haven't prayed for longer then 30 minutes in one sitting in a good while. It was a great time. I ended up praying up until I had to go to work so I wasn't able to get any lunch today. But I did make it to work and had a bunch of stuff to work on there. I ended up leaving to a service call around 3:30 and I never went back to work. This service call ended up taking until 7:30 tonight and I also missed dinner becaus of it. I had to do a lot of work with the corporate office for the Hotel I was working at so I was on the phone almost the whole time. I started out with my cell phone battery almost full and ended up working with them on conference call until my cell phone battery went dead. I then had to call back from another phone. By the time we had a temporary fix up for the weekend that phones battery was just about dead too. I ended up being on the phone for over 4 hours today doing that. It was a pretty tedius phone conversation. All that and I was back in the server room of the Hotel for 4 hours also and it was like 100 degrees back there. I was ready to be done after the first few hours. Turns out I was meeting Allie and Jonathan after I got off work today too and I had no way to get ahold of them for awhile because my phones battery was dead and I was already using the Hotels land line. But it worked out just in time and I was able to finish up perfect time to meet Allie right when i needed to be there. But it was worrying me that they would be waiting for me and I would have no way of telling them where I was or when I would show up. But yay! It all worked out. We ended up meeting for some coffee with Jonathan and his friend Becky. We ended up hanging out for roughly an hour or so. It was pretty good. Jon and Bec left after that and Allie and I headed to go see a movie. We saw "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" it was actually a pretty good movie but it was a pretty unique story. Anyway we both liked it. We then just returned to campus for the night. I've had an extremely long day and I need to get to sleep. So good night!

I've been sooo tired all day. I had to wake up and go to breakfast with the leadership team on my hall this morning. We left at 7:30.. it was crazy. Then I had to make it through meetings and all that other stuff. I then had a chance finally to go back to my room to have some quiet time. I took a little longer then usual and by the time I left to go to lunch the line ended up being a half hour long just to get in the building. Allie was waiting for me there too and once I got there we had to leave to work 10 minutes later. So I never did really eat lunch today because of it. Its a good thing I at least had breakfast though. Anyway after getting to work the day seemed to drag on a little bit. Probably because I was so tired. Once I got off though I then headed to the church so I could get stuff ready for this coming sunday. While I was there Allie called and asked if I wanted to get some dinner with her and britt. So we ended up going downtown to a mexican restaraunt. It was nice.. but I was way to tired to enjoy it as much as I could have. After eating we dropped Britt off and returned to campus for the night. Allie and I went and sat somewhere to look through a package my mom sent me but after that I just came back to my room. So I really do need to get to bed now. I got most of the stuff done that I wanted to tonight. Adios!

Today I started part time at work, so I spent the morning doing team building meetings with the guys on my hall. It ended up working out pretty good, we had a good time. The whole session period probably took three hours or so. Once it was over I went to grab some lunch real quick and then headed to work for the day. Today things at work were fairly normal. Nothing too much different happend with the buisness. Chuck ended up stopping by my work though to bring me a nice drink and some mail I had delivered to thier house. He was extremely kind like that... What a guy huh? Later after getting off work I ran by the church real quick to do something and then talked to Pastor for a little while. But I had to hurry back to campus so I could meet up with Allie for dinner before they closed. Unfortunatly though dinner was pretty bad and they didn't have very much selection at all. It was dissapointing. After eating dinner though Allie and I went to visit Tori for awhile and we just talked about a few things and she showed us pictures from her missions trip. It turned out to be a nice time. After returning back to campus though we had to hurry back to our dorms because he had some more hall meetings tonight. Ours went really really long tonight though so we didn't end up doing prayer groups afterwards because of that. But anyway, I think I"m going to try and get to bed a little earlier then I did last night. So yeah.. off to bed I go!

Today started out as a typical sunday morning. The service this morning was extremetly good though. We had a baptism after the service and it was a really good heart moving time with that. After church though Allie and I had to head back to campus for the day to help some of the new freshmen move into the dorms. It was fun in some ways.. but there were times when nobody was coming in and it got slow just sitting there waiting for something. It met up with Allie a few times for a break though and that was nice. My third roomate also came in today. My roomates are cool! I like them. They are both from different sides of VA. Its kinda funny. It worked out well though since they live so close they didn't have to bring everything they own like I did. So far we seem to be getting along great! God has been good to me in that regard for sure. I haven't had a roomate I didn't like yet. Anyway later in the day I went to Dinner with Allie and some girls from her dorm. Then her and I went to campus church with one of my roomates. Church was pretty good tonight too. Anyway after that I ran home with Allie to help her grab a few extra things for her dorm and after returning I just hung out with my roomies for awhile and we got to know each other better. But now its kinda late and I have to work tomorrow.. I am gonna head to bed now. Night!

Today seemed like a crazy long day. Work was pretty wild today and a bunch of stuff happend. First we fixed a guys computer yesterday.. he took it home and something else wasn't working (completely unrelated) and he comes back and blames us for it. Then we sold a Used computer today to somebody and we took it to the back to install some software and get it personalized for her.. and the hard drive goes bad in the middle of it. (good thing it happend before it left I guess though, but still not good). Then Andy was supposed to be moving out of his house this weekend because he sold it and closes Aug 15th.. well turns out the place he was supposed to move to ended up falling through so he has two days to find something. That was just some of the main things that happend today at work. But also other little things happend and it kind of just made the day pretty hectic having to deal with. It was good to be able to leave after work today and meed up with my georgeous girlfriend. That seemed to make the day worth it.. just getting to see her at the end of it. But I still had tons of stuff on my mind tonight anyway, with all that work stuff, and moving back on campus, and aviation stuff, and finacial stuff, and girlfriend stuff, and all that other stuff.. Allie and I ended up having some good time going over our book tonight though and once we finished with that we met with brittany and a bunch of her friends for coffee and to just hang out. Jonathan came too so that was pretty cool. Allie and I left early before the rest of them because we had to start packing up some stuff to bring to campus when we move in. I actually moved in some stuff tonight after dropping Allie off. Turns out my roomate had already moved in.. normally they don't show up until sunday. But he was there early for band practice. It was unexpected, but still cool to meet him. His name is Jackie and he seems like a pretty good guy. I ended up still getting to move the room around to how it works best and he didn't have a problem with it. I had fun getting to know a little about him in the short time I was there tonight. After leaving the dorms to come back home for the night I ended up getting a call from Jonathan. We had to talk about a few things. I ended up talking to him for about half an hour or so. By now it was pretty late already and I still needed to pack up some other things and do a few loads of laundry. So if your wondering why I am heading to bed so late that is why. Plus its good practice for the coming weeks when I'll be up till at least 1:00 pretty much every night. Anyway.. I'm really ready to get to sleep tonight. Today just drained me pretty good. Night!!

Today was a pretty good day. Work was normal for the most part. I did have a service call I needed to do today though. I ended up going to an older ladies house expecting a fairly simple job to get her on the internet. Well it turns out she had six computers and she wanted them setup and networked in a fairly complicated way. I was able to get it all done with no problems, but I ended up being there for like two and a half hours. It was pretty long for a service call for me. On the way back to work though I stopped by where Allie worked and left her a little present in her car for her to find when she got off. She said it was great and really liked it. After that I finished the rest of the day at work, before going to church for the rest of the evening. I got there around 6:00 and visited with some people for awhile. The service seemed to go a little longer then usual tonight but it was still good to just be at church with people. Oh and Brittany is back in town now and she was able to come to church with her family tonight. It was great to be able to see her again. She is going to be here for about three weeks or so. After church was over I spent some time afterwards hanging out at church watching band practice. Once she finished up I stuck around and watched britt mess around a little with the instruments and singing some. It was pretty fun. Anyway we headed out around 10:30 or so and I dropped her off at home before coming to my place. So yeah.. that pretty much covers it

We had that big lightning storm over the weekend. Boy did we feel the effects of that one today at work. It was only a half hour after we opened and we already had 6 people call for lightnight damages. I would say on average through the day it was about 10 per hour. It was pretty crazy. This storm was pretty damaging. And oh yeah.. a big lightning strike hit really close to the church and scared Allie and Jo who were there when it happend. Anyway.. since today was so crazy at work I was ready to leave when it was over. I went to the church to deal with some of the lightning damage there after work then headed to get a hair cut at the mall. I then headed home for the evening to get some aviaition stuff worked on. I also got home and took my shoes off and discovered that there was a little piece of glass stuck in my sock all day. I knew something was hurting down there today and I could never figure out what it was or couldn't find it. I ended up just giving up on it and dealing with it. Well after taking my shoes off there was a little blood stain on it.. my foot had been gouged by it pretty good and seeped blood. It didn't hurt too bad though.. it just felt like a nusanse all day. Anyway.. I probably should be getting to bed pretty soon. I have to wake up super early tomorrow to meet Allie before work. We are going to check out our books at the bookstore over at libert. We'll see how much I have to spend this semester... Ok good night.

I tried to do my crosscountry flight today after work. We got about a third of the way there and decided we should just turn back because the weather was getting progressively worse. It was a little dissapointing but defanantly a good desision as the lighting and thunder rolled in about an hour after we got back. Since I got back before I had planned, I had a good amount of time left in the day. I decided to call up Allie and see if she wanted to see Star Wars III tonight. I met up with her at church and ended up talking to John for a good little while, But then headed to the theater after that. The movie was pretty good but compared to the others there were some parts that seemed a little bit cheesy as in "oh like that could ever happen" type stuff. But over all it was good. Its always nice to spend time with Allie anyway, so that was of course the best part. Anyway, I need to get to bed, gotta be at church early again tomorrow for practice. NIght!

Today I studied aviation stuff for about five hours. I am doing my first cross country flight tomorrow and I had to make sure I was prepared for it. I'm glad my instructor will be with me on this one though.. I would be very nervous if he wasn't. Tonight we had some pretty awesome thunderstorms. I couldn't really get much stuff done on the computer like I wanted to though because the power kept going out every 10 minutes. Yeah.. it didn't work out too well with that. At least I was able to do flight planning work on paper. Anyway, I need to get to bed so I can be ready to fly tomorrow. Night!

Today was a very slow day at work.. it seemed to drag on forever. I hate it when it feels like that. Finally though things finally ended and I was able to leave! It was good too because my sweet and thoughtful girlfriend brought me dinner to church and I was ready to go see her and chow down. Also at church tonight the sactuary was pretty warm so all who came, piled in the pastors office and we did our bible study in there tonight. It was pretty cool. Then we did communion afterwards and John had setup a room with sand on the floor and it was pretty hot in there too. Then he spoke on how we thurst for Jesus and ended it in communion. It was a really nice idea. It seemed like a lot of work for a wednesday night thing though. After church was over I hung around and got songs setup for powerpoint. Then talked to pastor john for a little while after that. Once I got back home I read a chapter out of a book, then wrote a letter to a little girl in brazil. I'll have to see if I can get Allie to translate it to portugues for me. Ok well anyway.. that it for me.. I'm going to go turn myself off now.

Today things at work were fairly normal. Near the end of the day though I had to go do a service call. Turns out that ended up going over a little longer then excpected and I didn't get to leave till around 6:20. But I think the problem is solved now though. Then BJ ended up inviting me over for dinner again tonight. She is great for doing that for me so much! It was really good tonight too! I had fun with her and Allie. After dinner though I hung out for a little bit but then Jonathan came over and I ended up leaving with him shortly after, and we hung out for the rest of the eveing. It was good to spend some time with him again. But anyway.. I be tired and it be late. So I be off! Night!

Today for the first time in over a year I was able to sit down with the congregation for church. I decided to put Will in charge of powerpoint for the service and I just sat down in the crowd. It was really good to see my church from that perspective again. After church I went to spend the afternoon with Allie and BJ. It was a good time and I felt really productive. I finally managed to get the pictures from my seattle trip up online. (With Allie's help). For most of the day we were sitting at the computer getting the captions on each picture. But 400 pictures later.. we finally got them done. Out of over a 1000 pictures I have them all narrowed down to an easy 400 at www.jerdill.com/photos/liberty You should go check it out! Oh, then after leaving her house and getting back to my place tonight I discovered that my power had been out all day. I got lucky though and like 10 minutes after I got home it came back on. It was good too cause I wanted to cook me something to eat. So anyway today was over all a good day. I think I need to get to bed now though. I go flying tomorrow so I hope I can rest up a little extra tonight. Don't forget to look at those pictures! Night!
