I didn't get a chance to write a blog yesterday but I am now a homeowner. I closed on the house and signed on the line yesterday. Everything went very smoothly. I am actually going to even get some money back from the deal, my first payment also isn't until July 1st so it basicly comes down to them giving me money to move in for the first month before I have to start paying morgage. It worked out well. That evening Allie, Chuck, BJ, and Jo all helped me move some stuff into the place. Allie had some stuff she wanted to drop off of her own too. Now I just have to go buy appliances and stuff. BJ donated a wash machine to us though and that was really great. So I won't need to get one of those. I have added more pictures of the place online now. Check them out! House Pictures. Anyway I had class tonight and just got back about 20 minutes ago. It was in bedford so it was a decent length drive home. I'm really tired. I'll be writing more later I'm sure. Night!

This weekend was a pretty nice weekend even with Allie being out of town. She left Saturday morning and I made it through three days without her and stayed busy the whole time too! Saturday there was a wedding at my church so I ended up going to that. After that, I went over to someones house to work on a few computer issues. By the time I was all finished up with those things it was already almost 6:30. It worked out well though, it gave me enough time to run home to grab something to eat really quick then head over to the CANVAS ministry we are doing Saturday Nights. That ended up only going until around 10:00 and then I left when Chuck and Jo did. We stopped for some Icecream at Dairy Queen and ended up running into one of Chuck's old English Professors. Turns out I also knew them because I used to rent a place from them. It was kind of cool how that all connected. Anyway it was fun to sit and chat with them for a bit about stuff. I ended up heading back home around 11:00 or so.

Sunday at church things went well. It was a nice service and there was a decent amount of people there also. That afternoon I ended up going over to the Donnebergs and hung out with them for the evening. I had some computer work to do over there this time. Allie had some issues with her comptuer and then I tried to setup one of Chuck's to work for the Powerpoint setup for our Saturday night CANVAS ministry. That ended up taking longer then I expected but I finally got it. After that just watched a movie until it got late and I had to leave. But it was a pretty nice day.

Today I spent some money for my new house to be in two days. First thing I had to do today was meet my realtor over at the house and do the final walk through. Check on all the stuff to make sure its all been taken care of. There were just a few things I noted that the owner said he would take care of tomorrow. But all in all everything looks ready to go. The owner actually gave me a set of keys for the place today too and said I could feel free to come and go over the next few days before closing if I want. I ended up taking a key over to the Donnebergs so they could take a look on the inside if they wanted. They hadn't had a chance to look inside other then the very first time I took them for thier opinion. So I hung for a little bit there but not too long as I wanted to run a few other errands. I ended up goign to Lowes first to make a copy of the key but ended up being there for almost three hours. I wanted to look at sheds and ended up finding a really good deal on one there because they are having thier memorial day sale. Chuck and Jo and BJ ended up coming over there to look at it and give opinons on it. And then Chuck picked up a few things of his own while there. They gave thumbs up on the shed so I ended up getting that ordered. They are going to deliver it on Friday. I also looked at a few other things I'll be getting down the road a few weeks from now but none were on sale today or anything so I will just wait for those. We all ended up stopping by my house together after that so I could be with them when they saw it. They are all excited about it all. They ended up heading back home and I was about to head to a cookout that some friends from church put on but on the Way there I stopped at another furnature store that was having another Sale for Memorial Day. They had a great Wardrobe there that I thought would work great for Allie in the new house so I ended up picking one of those up. It was like 60% off or something like that. I think she'll like it. After that, headed over to the Hartmans for the cookout they were going to have there. I ended up staying there most of the rest of the evening. It was good food and nice to visit with a few freinds. They had invited a few other families from our church as well so there was a nice crowd of us. Anyway it was cool. Allie also came back in town this evening so she is back. I wasn't able to see her though. I was still at the Hartmans when she got back. I should be able to get together with her tomorrow evening though. Ok anyway that pretty much covers the weekend. I'm going to head on to bed. Night everyone!

Tuesday and Wednesday evening Allie and I actually watched American Idol on tv LIVE for the first time All season. Tuesday we went over to her house in the evening and watched it there. Then Wednesday evening we went over to Pete and Julie's house and watch the results show there. We hadn't spent time with them in a log while it was pretty fun. We got to see how much older Trinity is too. She is walking around all over the place now and doing pretty well talking too. It was nice. This evening I ended up spending the time by myself this evening. I was able to get some more pictures up online though. You can see them if you go to my pictures website www.jerdill.com/photos/liberty Check them out and let me know what you think! I added a few to Fall 2006 and then made a new category too. I think I'm going to head on to bed now though. I've just been so tired lately for some reason.

This weekend has been a pretty slow weekend for me. Allie and her family went out of town Friday morning so I've been solo in Lynchburg for the past few days. Friday I went to work and even stayed after a little bit to get a few other things done. I didn't really have any thing to go home to really so I stayed for another hour or so. I was going to go see Jerry Falwell in the Casket but found out they closed the doors on that at 4:00 so I decided to just go on Sunday. I ended up just going home and making some dinner and then ended up going to sleep around 8:00 or so. I was going to have a flying lesson in the morning so figured I might as well be rested up for it.

Saturday morning before my flight I ran over to the Donnebergs to do some cat/fish/plant sitting and I also took a load of laundry over there to let it go so it would be ready the next time I went by there. My flying lesson went pretty decent but there were still a few things I need to work on. It was still fun though. After flying I went home and slept again for another 4-5 hours or so until I had to wake up to get to a meeting for the workers of CANVAS (the saturday night thing we are trying to start here in lynchburg). That was at 7:00. On the way out the door to that though my parents called because they were having trouble with thier computer. I ended up just calling them back afterwards. So around 9:30 or so I call them and I try to walk them through all kinds of things. I don't know if you have ever tried to walk anybody through unplugging and plugging in hard drive and trying to install windows and drivers over the phone but it's not the easiest thing in the world. It ended up working out for them to just plug in one of the older computer I had there laying around the house and at least got them up and running with that for a temporary solution. Meanwhile someone up there came by to pickup thier original computer and will hopefully be able to get it working again. Anyway - I ended up being on the phone until around 11:30 or so and then pretty much headed right to bed after that so I could wake up in time for church this morning.

Church today was pretty good. The crowd was a little small though. A few families were out doing the summer vacation thing and some others wanted to go to Thomas Road for church this morning for the special things they had going there for Jerry's Death this past week. After church I ended up going to the Williamson's for lunch and I hung out there until around 3:30 or so. After that I went back to the Donnebergs to check the cat and fish and water some more of the plants as well as pick up my laundry. While I was there Allie called and I was able to talk to her for awhile and just catch up. It was good to hear from her. After leaving thier house I swung by Thomas Road for the casket veiwing that was going on there. There was a huge mass of people there at the time I decided to go. I ended up waiting in line for about 50 minutes. They had a huge mass of flowers and things setup for him on the stage there in the sancuary. It was beautifully setup there. It felt a little weird going up there to look at an empty shell but I think it was still good that I stopped by to do that. His body may have died but Jerry is alive and well and his Legacy will surely continue to live on as well. They had ushers there with little couters counting each person that came in. I wonder what those final numbers will be. That final number however still will not come close to the full extent of all those that his life had an effect on.

Anyway that pretty much covers the weekend while my girl has been out. They plan to come back in town late tomorrow. Tomorrow morning I have to be at work at 6:30 to be available for any problems from the work they had crew doing with servers and power systems over the weekend. Not looking forward to that. Thats it for now. Thanks for checking in on me.

Today for me was a pretty typical day, but around lunch time I heard news that Dr. Jerry Falwell had died today. It came as a shock to most of us. Just unexpected. He will surely be missed by a lot of people.

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!!

I made it back from North Carolina and I"m back in Lynchburg. I have to be at work tomorrow morning though so I don't have time to write much. Just thought I would say that we had a good time spending the weekend with Allie's Dad. We went out for Italian for his birthday dinner and mostly just hung out and relaxed the rest of the weekend.

Sunday back in Lynchburg we spent the day with the Donnebergs and went out for italian again for Jo and her mothersday lunch. We met at the restaraunt with Steph, Scott, RJ, Mandi, Allie and I with Chuck and Jo. We all gave her her gifts and cards and stuff and had a nice lunch. It was all a pretty good time. Spent the rest of the afternoon with the Family. Helped RJ for part of it to move an excersise machine and watched a movie with Chuck. Just another relaxing day. Anyway, I need to get to bed. Night!

This weekend was a lot of fun. On friday Allie and I went out for dinner to a hamburger place called five guys burgers and fries. It was really good and a lot of fun too! After that we went shopping for a shirt for me to wear to the banquet that was on Saturday. We found a black shirt with vertical stripes and then a solid white tie. It looked pretty good! After that Allie had to go back home to get a little bit of homework done before the big weekend though.

On Saturday I was able to sleep in until 12:00. I was thinking about going flying but the weather was pretty bad that day so it didn't work out. It was sure nice to sleep in late though. After waking up I just got ready for the day and read for awhile and waited until it was time to go pickup Allie for the banquet. Sam and I met the girls in front of their dorms at 5:00 so we could get to Roanoke by 6:00. Both of them were really pretty (I think Allie looked better though) She had her hair all curled and she had a long red dress on. It was great! We ended up hitting the road a little later then 5:00 but it wasn't too bad because the thing wasn't supposed to start until 7:00 anyway. We arrived at the Hotel Roanoke at 6:30 where Liberty had rented out one of thier large conference rooms. They had it all setup nicely. The theme was masquarade so they had little masks for everyone if we wanted them. Allie and Erin were both starving when we got there so we didn't wait for the thing to offically start. we went again and ate our salad right away. The rest of the meal was brought to us a little later. I wasn't really even that fond of the meal. It was really small and didn't seem all that special to me, it did the job though. A little after we finished eating they brought out an illusionist and he did some magic trick things for us all. He was pretty good and it was fun. It all seemed pretty short though. We were pretty much out of there by 9:00. Afterwards we ended up going to get some coffee at a little coffee shop they have in downtown Roanoke. Allie and I like that place, we've been there a few times. After hanging out at the coffee shop for awhile we ended up going over to the Roanoke Theater and watching Spider Man 3. We watched the really late showing of it so there wasn't very many people there. The movie was really good though. I liked it a lot. It didn't get out until a little after 2:00 though because it didn't start until 11:45, So that put us back in Lynchburg around 3:30. It ended up being a really late night but I know I had a lot of fun. I had to get to bed soon after getting home though because I needed to be at church at 8:30 that morning for worship team practice.

Sunday morning was a really good service. The pastor's dad actually spoke this sunday to give our pastor a break. His family has had a really rough past couple weeks and he just needed a break. He was still at church and still lead worship, he just didn't have to preach. Keep him and his family in your prayer if you think about it. After church I went over to the Donneberg's for lunch and then took a really long nap afterwards. Around 6:00 I went to a dance recital with Chuck and Jo (Allie had to stay and continue homework stuff). A friend of ours daughter was in the recital so we went to support her. She was really good and the whole show was just fun. I enjoyed it. After that I just spent the rest of the night back at the Donnebergs again until around 11:00 or so. It ended up being a really fun weekend though and I'm glad I was able to spend so much time with Allie - I've missed her lately. Anyway thats it for me. Night!

I have an accepted offer on that house now. Everything seems to be coming together quite nicely. I had the home inspection today and I met with him over my lunch break today. Everything checks out for the most part. At least there was nothing major but there were a few things he noted I should probably have done. We are set to close on the house May 30th. I haven't been by there with a camera yet though to get pictures. I know thats what you all are waiting for. I will try to do that soon. Thats the news so far. Everything else around is is pretty normal. This weekend should be fun though. Allie and I are going to Libety's JR/SR Banquet. Its basicly liberty's version of a prom type thing. That should be a lot of fun. Sam and Erin will be coming with us too. I haven't felt well at all the past few days though. This cold or whatever it is won't let go. I hope it calms down by then. It won't be as fun spending an evening in formal wear with klenex in every pocket. Anyway.. thats it for now. I'll try to write more later.
